IELTS to introduce One Skill Re-take!

IELTS (the International English Language Testing System) is the most popular language test for those wishing to emigrate to Australia and they’ve just announced that they will soon allow a ‘one skill re-take’ for those who didn’t achieve their required result.

Although anticipated to be available at only certain IDP IELTS centres across the country, the new rule will allow test takers to re-take one of the four skills tested (listening, reading, writing and speaking).

It’s an initiative borne out of test-taker feedback and will counter fails that may only be attributable to ‘first time nerves’ or a lack of familiarity with the test-taking process.

Whilst good news for test takers in general, it has been noted that the Department of Immigration has yet to confirm that second Test Reports will be accepted for immigration purposes and references to it doing so have been removed from the IELTS website.
